Description
|
The Ottawa Train Yards is a 1.7 million square
foot redevelopment of lands once occupied by the CPR and the
CNR. Within this total development will be constructed 9 Class
"A" office buildings varying in size from 78,500 to 178,500
square feet. Floor plates of 18,000, 26,000 and 36,000 square
feet are available.

Location

The Ottawa Train Yards is a 92 acre site located
at the junction of the Queensway (Highway 417) and the Vanier
Parkway. This site enjoys exceptional access from all parts
of the city and is also serviced by two stops on the rapid
transit system. Access to Ottawa International Airport is
via Riverside Drive and the Airport Parkway.

Site Influence
|
These lands have exceptional locational attributes and
are roughly in the geographic centre of the City. This site
is within 5 kilometres of 310,000 residents of which 219,000
live within a 15 minute drive. This is a well educated population
with a high incidence of bilingual skills.
There are a number a very significant landmarks within
a short distance of the site. The most immediate is the
Canada Post Central Sorting Plant, the Ottawa Railway Station,
the AT&T fibre optics facility, Jetform Park, the RCMP Headquarters
and a large new hotel. The University of Ottawa, Carleton
University, La Cite Collegiale and the University of Ottawa
Medical Centre are all nearby.
